that's the deal and that will continue to be the case and hour by hour tomorrow it's going to be a climb into the 70's after a cold start. more on this coming up. >> musterer identifying moments for people an apartment complex. someone threw bombs in to their homes as they slept. >> fire crews say it's a miracle nobody was killed. we had seven people hurt. christian has that story tonight and how are the victims doing? >> reporter: six adults and one child. they were taken to two area hospitals with injuries including burns and smoke inhalation. they are expected to recover but it's clear that this is a story that could have been much, much worse. the first crashed through a window at the park side gardens apartment shortly before four this morning. felicia was able to get out with her two children, 3 and 5 months. >> i had to get out. i got to get out. i knew we were going to die. it was so much smoke. so much smoke. >> reporter: around a half hour

later another fire bomb. this time at complexes about a mile away from each other. city police say because of that and the short amount of time they believe that the same person or group is responsible for both. >> it was really a test. like flames were shooting up. it spread really fast. >> reporter: police say that the devices that started the fires were similar and both made for only one purpose. >> it was a very danger out arsonist. anyone who would fire bomb a house where they could be believe the people were sleeping is dangerous and they had the intent to kill. >> reporter: fire crews hung signs on the build uppings looking for tips. the red cross is helping some of the families burned out of their homes. >> i'm just blessed. i know god was protecting us. . >> reporter: no if any specific people were targeted. tonight police say they will be

increasing patrols in the area where the fires happened. if you have information on who may be responsible you are asked to call the fire marshall. abc 2news. >> new tonight gun shot at another high school. this time in washington dc. it happened in northwest. not far from silver springs. the shooting followed an argument between two students earlier in the day. they say one student left the campus, came back and his classes were letting out he shot the student he had been arc arguing with. this was isolated. >> i do want to repeat that this seems to be isolated incident tentless two young people. parents should feel safe sending their kids to school. >> there was only one suspect, police have him in custody. the student who was shot is expected to be okay. >> monarch med spa has been shut down after three patients

came down with an infection. onene of them died. the state and health department went in yesterday. the investigation was focusing on how the people who worked there, what they do and the equipment. they are trying to find the source. >> we don't know exactly where it comes and that's why it's important at this point now to stop everything, let's figure out what's going on before someone else dies. >> monarch med spa said they are cooperating, they preform thousands of procedures without problems. if you have been there in the last six weeks and have a fever, redness or pain call your doctor right away. >> the man suspected of killing his grandparents in already home is out of the hospital tonight and in prison. matthew long is charged with two counts of first degree murder. police believe he killed his grandparent was a pair of 20- pound dumb bells and a knife. the peppers were found dead in their home on september 10th.

a few days after long, turned up at a hospital in oklahoma. he will be sent back to baltimore but the process has not yet started. a baltimore city police officer was sentenced to 20 years in jail for trafficking heroin while on duty. prosecutors say the officer daniel red was even in uniform and was carrying a weapon while he committed the crimes. according to the plea agreement he was busted last year for trying to buy and sell drugs in the police station parking lot. other people were also charged in the case. >> you know when we were young we would go watch through fit and fast pitch softballt. would be all night long. nothing has changed at patterson. will the green be erased? the they want to put in a parking lot. parking up the 96 cars to help with the buildings for seniors. those who use the park to walk, voluntary, ride bikes say keep the green and leave the cars out.

karen king has been studying a three inch writing sample from the second century that includes a reference to jesus's wife. king said it doesn't prove jesus was married. its subject of an upcoming documentary called the gospel of jesus's wife. we want to know what you think. do you think this is true that jesus had i wife? join in the conversation on facebook. >> could chick fil a change its tune in the chain has agreed now to stop funding anti gay groups. it came during a meeting with the chicago politician who was blocking their move into the city. chick fil a also sent a memo called chick fil a who are we stating that he company will treat every person with honor, and respect regardless of their belief, race, sexual orientation.

>> maryland is famous for its blue crab and with good reason. last year the state's crab harvest led the nation. the new figures the natalma rene fishery service shows that maryland accounted for more than 25% of the 200 million pounds of blue crab harvested last year. the state's overall harvest was down slightly at about 88 million pounds. >> the september success of the orioles showing up on the field and also in stores. according to espn the orioles have sold a third most items in all of major league baseball. only the giants and yankees have sold more. apple has now pushed back the shipment date for preorders of the i-phone 5. the preordered phones were supposed to ship friday the same day they became available in stores but now they said they won't ship for another three to four weeks. appearing received more than two million preorders of the smart phone in just the first 24 hours.

the i-phone 5 may soon be passe because of the other items that apple are watching for. >> another apple. its being called the i-pad mini and it could be out before the year is out. john has a preview so you don't waste your money. >> reporter: forget the i-phone 5. what many will want to see this year is apple's upcoming i- pad mini. new pictures show a working model that is expected in time for the holiday shopping season. tech blog has just published pictures china of someone holding a working small i-pad in their hand. it looks similar to the current one, with cameras on the front and back. the biggest difference is it appears to be about two to three inches smaller. similar to a kindle or other tablet. blogers expect apple will hold a major event in mid-october to

into the weekend. a new front that's developing up here into the northern plains now. that will take a dive southward for the weekend. that front that came through yesterday and produced the wild weather, especially into dc area yesterday that's still lined up off shore. showers several hundred miles off shore. in the meantime the big story continues to be cool weather here locked in across the northeast. you see the flow, 50 in eerie. 55 baltimore. that northern corner of the country socked in with cool temperatures, warm, summer like air in to the country, midsection. how about the tropics. we are still in the heart of hurricane season. you can see what's left of nadine affecting islands off the coast of europe and an interesting circulation in the open atlantic and a couple of waves down in the south atlantic. nothing that shows particular promise in term of development. the set up a quiet one.
